Illuminated Magnifiers are just one of the visual aids we sell - and we stock a wide range - the benefits of magnifiers are obvious but why would you need an illuminated magnifier?

Quite simply - light aids vision.

We need light in order to see. If you're continually trying to read small text or focus on very small objects, in a poorly illuminated environment, it could cause eye strain.

Do you already have eye strain?

You may already be suffering from eyestrain but possibly have not made the connection with the cause of the symptoms. Common symptoms of eye strain include:

Headaches, back & neck aches, sore eyes, itching or burning sensation of the eyes, blurred vision, twitching / spasms around the eyes, nausea, dizziness, double vision, fatigue, difficulty concentrating while reading, and other reading problems.

Please note: If you're already suffering from one or more of these symptoms, then you should make an appointment with an optician to make sure you're still using the correct prescription spectacles or contact lenses, or if you have not had your vision tested for quite some time & currently do not wear spectacles or contacts, you may find that your vision has deteriorated, which may mean you need them.

If you often need to read small text or focus on very small objects, either just for general reading or to do with your work or hobby, then using a magnifier will help. If you often have to read or focus on small objects in dimly lit conditions, then having the use of a good quality illuminated magnifier, can make a big difference.

Which lighted magnifier should you choose?

We offer a wide range of illuminated magnifiers, and your choice should be dependant on what you need a magnifier for, and what magnification you need.

All of our magnifiers are high quality, but If your magnifier is going to be important to you, for your work, or leisure, then a lighted magnifier towards the higher end of our range would be a good choice.

The slightly higher priced magnifiers include folding dust caps to protect the lens, give better battery life, have adjustable illumination, and are LED illuminated rather than using a bulb or lamp - which means you will never have to change the bulb.

If you just want a light magnifier for general occasional use, then any of our range will be fine - in this case just make your choice based on the size of lens you think you need, and the magnification you require.
